This week starts with a new section for my blog!As you may notice from my menu,I’ve got a “travel” section where I collect all the posts from my voyages.Few weeks ago I thought “I always write about the places I visit and I like,but never about MY CITY…and is one of the most beautiful and touristic places in the world.So why don’t I start now!?!”.So here you are my “Discover Napoli”:I’ll try to show you the magic,the culture and the beauty enclosed in this pearl located in the south of Italy!

Questa settimana comincia con una nuova rubrica per il mio blog!Come probabilmente avete già notato,nel menu c’è una sezione interamente dedicata ai miei “viaggi”.Così,qualche settimana fa,ho pensato che parlo sempre di tanti posti ma mai della MIA CITTÀ,una delle mete più belle e con più turismo di tutto il mondo.Quindi…perché non dedicarle un po’ di spazio?Da qui nasce il progetto “Scoprire Napoli”:in questo modo cercherò di mostrarvi la magia,la cultura e la bellezza racchiuse in questa perla del sud Italia!
The places of this post are very close my university.When I take the metro,I pass through these alleys full of chatting people,smells of the most delish foods and a lot of historic monuments.The ones I want you to talk about are:Piazza del Gesù Nuovo and the Santa Chiara’s colonnade.
In the square you can spot the Immaculate obelisk,with its precious statue on the top.At its back there’s the majesty of the Curch of Gesù Nuovo.Its facade catchs you eyes but the show is in the inside:a baroquish richness that leaves you astonished!I didn’t photograph the interior for respect of the functions,but you can easily take a look on the web(thanks Google!)

I luoghi descritti in questo post sono vicinissimi alla mia università.Infatti,quando vado in metro,mi ritrovo a camminare per questi vicoletti pieni di gente,di voci,di profumi deliziosi dei cibi più buoni della tradizione partenopea e,logicamente,di tantissimi monumenti storici.Oggi però vi voglio parlare solamente di due di questi:Piazza del Gesù Nuovo ed il chiostro di Santa Chiara.
Nelle foto riguardanti la piazza potete ammirare l’imponente obelisco sovrastato dalla statua dell’Immacolata,che padroneggia al centro dello slargo.Alle sue spalle,invece,si staglia la Chiesa del Gesù Nuovo,con tutta la sua magnificenza.La sua facciata attira l’attenzione ma  il vero spettacolo è all’interno:uno sfarzo barocco da togliere il fiato!Non ho fotografato gli interni della chiesa per una questione di rispetto,visto che stavano celebrando la messa,ma basta cercare su Google per poter ammirare quanto vi sto dicendo

Next to the Gesù Nuovo there’s the curch of Santa Chiara,a big and ancient building,a mixture of gothic and baroque,totally destroyed during the second world war and rebuilt very plain.Nowdays the best thing remaining of the old church is the Poor Clares colonnade:an open space where the nuns used to walk,read and cultivate the gardens.Actually,the collonnades are several,but just one is open to public visits.As you’ll see from the pics above,all the walls are covered with frescoes and you can find a lot of precious majolicas,painted by the nuns and the monks who lived there over the centuries.In the monastery there were also private thermal baths inclusive of cold,hot and swimming pools!
This place is idyllic:you’re in the middle of one of the most chaotic places in the town,but when you’re inside you don’t hear a pin drop!

Di fianco al Gesù Nuovo c’è la Chiesa di Santa Chiara,un grande ed antico edificio di natura un po’ gotica e un po’ barocca,completamento distrutto durante la seconda guerra mondiale e ricostruito in forma molto più semplice.Oggigiorno,la cosa più bella rimasta della chiesa è il Chiostro delle Clarisse:uno spazio aperto dove le suore passeggiavano,leggevano e coltivavano l’orto e i giardini.In realtà ci sono diversi chiostri,ma solo alcuni sono aperti al pubblico.Come vedrete nelle foto che ho fatto,tutte le pareti  del chiostro sono affrescate e tutt’intorno ci sono delle bellissime maioliche dipinte stesso dai frati e dalle monache nei secoli.Sono anche state ritrovate delle vasche termali nel monastero,in cui si potevano fare bagni caldi,freddi o semplicemente stare a mollo!
Questo posto è paradisiaco:vi ritroverete in uno dei punti più caotici e chiassosi della città,circondati dal silenzio più assoluto!
