My last gig of the year:the BIFFY “FU*KIN” CLYRO !!!One of my favourite band of the last two years!If you’ve never heard about ‘em,you really sholud listen one of their 6 albums.Opposites is the last one and it’s a double CD with a lot of great songs;but their masterpiece(in my opinion) is Only Revolutions:a synergy of scratched rock and tender ballads(for sure you know the hit Many of Horror)
Biffy Clyro are a scotthish rock band,born in 1995,by Simon Neil and the Johnston twins(Ben & James),true friends and dedicated musicians.Even though critics love them,it’s been a little bit difficult for the guys to become a “mainstream” band.But with the help and support of giants of rock as Muse,Red Hot Chili Peppers,The Who,The Rolling Stones and Queens of the Stone Age,which chose them as supporters for their world tours,Simon & Co. became visible to bigger audiences.
I jumped in this band accidentally;I was voting the “best male in rock” for the NMA awards and I stuck in front of mr Neil’s pic:bleached hair and long beard,a body covered with colourful tattoos,deep blue eyes and a sweet but naughty face…oh my!!!So I googled his name and I read something about BC;I watched “The Captain” video and I was in love!
Going back to the gig…it was AMAZING!The opening band was the Seattle’s Walking Papers,very nice sounds and great performers.When the Biffys came out,I thought I was gonna die:the crowd got mad,everybody was screaming and jumping,trying to reach the front row.I don’t even know how,but I was thrown in the second row,just in front James aka Jimbo,the bassist.Ijumped,screamed and blinked at the band for almost 2h.At the end of the night I was totally exausted!But that epic and perfect show definitely worthed the trip to Bologna,the scratches,the nudges,the sweat and the tiredness!
My hopes are to see these 3 rockers very soon,maybe in a bigger show,like their first Reading Festival as headliner played last August!

Il mio ultimo concerto dell’anno:i BIFFY FU*KIN CLYRO !!!Una delle mie band preferite degli ultimi 2 anni!Se non ne avete mai sentito parlare,dovreste ascoltare uno dei loro 6 album:Opposites è l’ultimo uscito,un doppio CD con un sacco di canzoni stupende;ma il loro capolavoro(secondo me) è Only Revolutions :una sinergia di rock graffiante e dolci ballate(di sicuro conoscete la hit Many of Horror)
I Biffy Clyro sono una rock band scozzese,nata nel 1995,da Simon Neil ed i gemelli Johnston(Ben & James),veri amici e zelanti musicisti.Anche se molto apprezzati dalla critica,è stato difficile per i ragazzi farsi conoscere dal grande pubblico.Ma con l’aiuto ed il supporto di giganti del rock come i Muse,Red Hot Chili Peppers,The Who,The Rolling Stones e i Queens of the Stone Age,che li hanno scelti come band spalla per i loro tour mondiali,Simon & Co. sono giunti ad un pubblico più vasto.
Sono incappata in questa band per caso;stavo votando il “miglior rocker maschile” agli NMA awards e sono rimasta imbambolata davanti alla foto di Mr Neil:barba lunga e capelli ossigenati,una corpo pieno di coloratissimi tatuaggi,occhi di un blu profondo ed una faccia da schiaffi…oh mamma!Quindi ho googlato il suo nome e ho letto qualcosa sui BC;poi ho guardato il video di “The Captain” e mi sono innamorata!
Ritornando al concerto…è stato INCREDIBILE!La band di supporto erano i Walking Papers di Seattle,bei suoni ed ottimi animali da palcoscenico.Quando sono usciti i Biffy ho pensato di stare per morire:il pubblico è impazzito,tutti che saltavano ed urlavano,cercando di farsi più vicini alle transenne.Non so neanche io come abbia fatto,ma mi sono ritrovata in seconda fila,giusto di fronte a James aka Jimbo,il bassista.Ho saltato,urlato ed ammiccato alla band per quasi 2h.Alla fine della serata ero esausta!Ma questo spettacolo epico e a dir poco perfetto è valso di gran lunga il viaggio fino a Bologna,i graffi,le gomitate,il sudore e la stanchezza!
La mia speranza è di rivedere questi 3 rockers molto presto,magari in uno show più grande,come il loro primo concerto da headliner al Reading Festival lo scorso agosto!
